What is Kundalini Yoga and what are the benefits?
Kundalini Yoga is a powerful, ancient Indian practice designed to awaken your consciousness, helping you to rediscover your original Self and harmonise your mind, body and spirit. If you like your physical exercise to come with a side of spiritual enlightenment, this might be the yoga for you.

How does Kundalini Yoga differ to other forms of yoga?
Compared to other forms of yoga, Kundalini Yoga is a more spiritual practice. While it still involves physical poses (Asanas) these are not the primary focus and each class combines the seven facets of yoga to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood. Each class involves:
- Pranayama (breathing techniques)
- Asanas (body postures)
- Mantras (sound vibrations)
- Mudras (hand positions)
- Bandhas (body locks)
- Meditation (mental focus)
- Relaxation

Kundalini Yoga combines chanting, singing, repetitive movements, and breathing in specific techniques and patterns to awaken the energy from within. Helping individuals to move past their ego, the practice is often referred to as the ‘Yoga of Awareness.’
